17>18.09 Re-opening of the Anderlecht Beguinage + Heritage days

17-18 September 2022

The restoration of the smallest beguinage in Belgium was completed this year. After several months’ closure and before its brand-new museum project is inaugurated in autumn 2023, the Anderlecht beguinage is opening its doors to the public for a few events in 2022. These exceptional opening days will enable everyone to discover this entirely restored architectural jewel in a pristine state before its reallocation as a museum space.
Upon the occasion of its re-opening, accompanied by guided tours, performances, a concert, and drinks, you will be able to discover the work done to restore its original appearance to this extraordinary heritage site unique in Europe.
Erasmus House, for its part, will offer a programme with a Latin accent.

At the beguinage, art and music will take centre stage with a special programme connected to the history of the venue. The premiered works will resonate with architecture that has traversed the centuries. It will also be possible to explore Erasmus House and its gardens with a guide or to dive into Latin to understand the adages dear to Erasmus’s heart.
What is more, everything is completely gratis! So, check your calendars today!
