Istituto di Studi Umanistici Francesco Petrarca, Mecenati, artisti e pubblico nel Rinascimento, Chianciano e a Pienza, 20-23/7/2009
La informiamo che l’Istituto di Studi Umanistici Francesco Petrarca, membro ufficiale della F.I.S.I.E.R. (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés et Instituts pour l’Étude de la Renaissance), ha indetto il XXI Convegno Internazionale sul tema Mecenati, artisti e pubblico nel Rinascimento che si svolgerà a Chianciano e a Pienza dal 20 al 23 luglio 2009.
Le relazioni dovranno tenere conto di almeno due dei tre termini dell’argomento.
Si prega di inviare il titolo entro e non oltre il 31 dicembre 2008, accompagnato da un breve schema della relazione, onde evitare spiacevoli sovrapposizioni da parte dei relatori.
La relazione dovrà attenersi al limite concesso di 25 (venticinque) minuti per permettere, poi, la successiva discussione.
Il testo, che verrà considerato definitivo e non dovrà superare le 28.000 battute, dovrà pervenire alla Segreteria del Convegno entro e non oltre il 31 marzo 2010.
Detto testo dovrà:
1 - essere corredato di note a pié di pagina;
2 - con le indicazioni bibliografiche complete e l’indice dei nomi citati nel testo e nelle note;
3 - con relativo supporto cartaceo e con file del testo in Microsoft Word (terminare il nome del file con .doc) possibilmente su CD (i floppy disk risultano ormai difficoltosi da leggere);
4 - se all’interno del testo fossero presenti immagini, sarebbe preferibile averle a parte, esterne al documento, in formato .jpg ad alta risoluzione.
5 - Se si preferisce inviare il testo via posta elettronica, allegare il file in Microsoft Word (terminare il nome del file con .doc), con le immagini separate, all’indirizzo: istpetrarca @iol.it

The Seminarium Philologiae Humanistiae of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven is pleased to inform you that an international conference on Justus Lipsius and political writing in Early Modern Europe will take place in Leuven from the 8th until the 10th of January. This colloquium has been entitled: (Un)masking the Realities of Power. Justus Lipsius’s Monita et exempla politica and the Dynamics of Political Writing in Early Modern Europe, and is organised in the framework of a research project on Lipsius’s Monita et exempla politica led by Jan Papy and Toon Van Houdt and financed by the Onderzoeksraad (K.U.Leuven) and the Research Foundation – Flanders.

8-Week intensive Latin and Greek summer school Ireland, June 29th - August 20th 2009

The Department of Classics offers an intensive 8-week summer school for beginners with parallel courses in Latin and Greek. The courses are primarily aimed at postgraduate students in diverse disciplines who need to acquire a knowledge of either of the languages for further study and research, and at teachers whose schools would like to reintroduce Latin and Greek into their curriculum.
In each language 6 weeks will be spent completing the basic grammar and a further 2 weeks will be spent reading simple, unadapted texts.

Il Master Universitario in Editoria e gestione del prodotto editoriale dell'Universita' Cattolica di Milano (inizio dei corsi 12 gennaio 2009) promuove un'ultima selezione dei candidati per la III edizione 2008-2009.
Il Master, organizzato con la prestigiosa Scuola di Editoria del Centro Padre Piamarta di Milano, si caratterizza come un percorso formativo altamente professionalizzante, rivolto tanto all'editoria cartacea (libri e periodici) quanto a quella elettronica: oltre 600 ore di laboratori, stages aziendali, visite e incontri con esperti italiani e internazionali. Tra i docenti dei corsi frontali Giuliano Vigini e Giancarlo Petrella.
La selezione, che consistera' in un colloquio per verificare le capacita' attitudinali dei candidati e la creazione di un'apposita graduatoria, si terra' il giorno 8 gennaio alle ore 15: l'aula verra' indicata dall'Ufficio Master.
Entro il giorno 7 gennaio devono pervenire le domande, in formato elettronico e cartaceo.
